John told me that he thought a turntable would be a good birthday gift for Ericha, as usual he had a good time margain as he told me this Wednesday this week and her birthday is not until tomorrow.
This should be a second hand quality thing, modern cheap stuff like Project and such not an option nor the 2500 euro for a decent Clearaudio so checking local ads was starting point, found this:
Looked like new, never used almost, for 150 ?, so went there and bought it, cartridge was still the original Ortofon FF15 EO, totally incorrectly mounted so removed as it was not included in the plan.
The Sonab 67s was a Swedish designed/manufactured TT with a Japanese, quite decent, tonearm, Jelco or Micro-Seiki I guess, produced around 73-76.
This in perfect original shape, rotten cartridge but everything else perfect, even the belt, tiny dust scratches on the lid, inevitable, how
to get this in very good working order in two days?
