So my 42 year old Akai finally kicked the can and after spending a grand on a NAD C300 amp I've been looking at some kit amp designs. I remember back in the day the LM383 was quite popular and gave full 8W RMS on a 8 ohm load. Since it is apparently discontinued, people keep referring to the TDA2003. So my question is, is it any good compared to the LM383. I was thinking of maybe putting a pair of Foster TV speakers on the TDA. They are 16 ohms and rate 3.5W for the 3" woofers and 5W for the tweeters and sound great for their size. Any replies would be appreciated.
