I bought a set of Stax SR-207 last year and have been enjoying them very much.
They and some other models have a reputation of the pads moving around and need to be re-adjusted every now and then.
I have a fix for this. I took of the pads, cleaned of all the glue on the pads and headphone cups with a glue solvent/remover(bought at Builders Warehouse).
Then I also bought clear double sided tape, about 0.5mm thick also at Builders Warehouse, the cheapest ones they had and applied that to the headphones.
Then firmly stuck the pads on to the other side of the double sided tape.
Never had problems again, pads stay stuck and never move
