After a number of requests I decided to look into a simple +12V to +5V and -5V regulated supply board, to power the active crossover filter board. The active crossover board does not use much power, so a simple voltage ladder should be good enough. Designing this board with this specific purpose in mind does allow for the inclusion of lots of RC filtering of incoming power as the load current is known. This is what I came up with...
The circuit is based on the popular old 555.
A multi stage negative voltage ladder is implemented at the 555 does not run rail to rail, and the 79L05 is a not low drop out regulator.
