My 1981 Goldmund's motor failed a month ago, tried asking Graham Midlane and Alan Hobkirk to fix it. They both say I must toss it
Along comes Francois van Wyk with an offer I couldn't refuse! A SME 20/2 table, now with my SME V arm and VdH Colibri cart mounted on it
First impressions: Its precision has brought with it the virtues of the best of digital. The Goldmund had a midbass bump in comparison. So maybe my digital comment is due to a less round sound.
SME is darker sounding, huge soundstage, better bass, cleaner treble and speed stability that makes time stand still.
