This topic came up in a For Sale thread and I thought it's worth discussing in its own thread.
As mentioned, it's usually stated that the buyer assumes the risk for the shipment.
Which imho is understandable.
After all, we are private individuals, not businesses with (I assume) all kinds of insurance to cover shipping mishaps.

On the other hand, I also understand the counterpoint.
As a buyer, surely you can reasonably expect to receive goods paid for in good order.
So both points of view make sense I suppose.

I happen to be very risk averse (and not particularly good at packaging),
so if Seller-Takes-The-Risk became the new status quo,
I suspect I would simply remove the possibility of shipment from all my sales.
But that's just me.
