The amp was restored and improved by Ampdog about seven years ago. He also disabled the centre channel switch. More recently it has been playing up on one channel or playing softer than the other channel. To restore the sound I had to resort to switching on and off to the several. The verdict according to Alan Hobkirk: too many switches in the signal path and the problem will get worse with time. Since I do not intend to sale the amp, I asked Alan whether the problem can be minimised by disabling some of the switches. The following switches have now been disabled:
1) Mono/stereo .
2)High filter.
3)Low filter.
4) Presence.
5)Speaker on
6)Tape monitor
Since the changes were made two weeks ago the amp has been purring happily without any of the aforementioned problems
