[QUOTE="pwatts, post: 468133, member: 146"] The latest firmware update of mede8er supports higher sample rates on S/PDIF, before that a bug caused everything to be downsampled to 16/48 http://www.mede8erforum.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=am0e04t8be5c3v2jmci947os76&/topic,14598.0.html (this was found with a 10s Google search btw) I have my doubts over the integrity of anything Mede8er, its fickle S/PDIF left me very unimpressed. The Realtek chip has to buffer and reclock the stream, so it can affect jitter and thus SNR, so this is not a 'digital is digital' scenario. The Logitech is bound to perform better for serious hi-fi. Of course best is to A-B compare if you can; the difference is unlikely to be as profound as when comparing DAC's or amps. Don't be too worried about 192 BTW, I still call BS for anyone claiming to hear the difference between 24/96 or 24/192 on all but the craziest systems and recordings (NOS cultists' results don't count since the 192 then just becomes a very expensive and bandwidth-intensive 2x oversampler).
