Just curious....

What is your perception of "high end gear" (eg. a speaker pair that let's say sells for over 10K) being sold on sites such as Takealot and the like?  I'm not talking online dealer sites manned and managed at dealer level, but rather the association with what has increasingly been referred to and perceived to be bargain sites... or as I would refer to as "digital spaza shops"  :giggle:

Does it merely create brand awareness? Is it merely considered to be yet another dealer? Or does it impact the brand negatively?  I've seen an increasing trend for importers going that route - some full ball, some only bits and pieces and I honestly have mixed feelings about it.

(DISCLAIMER:  I do shop from takealot on the odd occasion, so no offence intended.  It is what it is.)

Thoughts?
