This should hopefully give similar video quality to the outrageously expensive DVD A1XV but at a more liveable price.

Denon rolls out new high-end upscaling DVD deck
If you're scared by the whole HD-DVD/Blu-ray format war and the allegedly less than awe-inspiring quality of the first 'next-gen' DVD players, Denon reckons it's got just the answer for you in the form of the DVD-3930. This ?1100 universal disc player (meaning it will play SACD and DVD-Audio discs as well as DVD video and MP3/WMA/JPEG/Picture CD discs) permits 1080p upscaling via its HDMI output - and it's not just 'any old' 1080p upscaling, either.

The video processing responsible for the upscaling is the Silicon Optix Realta T2 HQV system, powered by Teranex - a technology that's also used by US hi-def broadcast networks to convert standard def footage into HD.

Other features of this deck include:
* Pixel Image Correction for custom picture enhancement
* advanced AL24 Plus digital audio processing
* Gigabit DenonLink3 for enhanced digital audio with compatible components
* heavy anti-vibration construction involving a double layer lid, triple layer bottom and heavy transport structure
* video and audio boards that are separated with multiple power supplies
* 5 Burr-Brown 24/192 DACs with stereo in double differential configuration
* an additional EI core transformer just for the audio stages
* a pure stereo path and audiophile capacitors for the analogue power supply
* high-end 14-bit, 216MHz Video DACs
* a keystone adjustment (the first time this has been available on a DVD player)
* vertical and horizontal adjustment for HDMI signals.
