Your speakers will respond well to a XO upgrade. They are a budget design and about 20 years old. The XOs will be mass assembled using cheap components. The drive units for this type of design will be good and in keeping with other competing products but one area of increasing profits is to cut costs on the XO. Also to streamline production wiring harnesses are pre-made with brass push-on terminals, the worst way to connect IMO. Brass has an IACS of 27% compared to Cu. at 100% and Ag. at 106% If you post a photo of one of your XOs I bet we will see the many coils laid all the same way which will definitely have a damaging effect on the sound. There will be cross-talk between them. in other words noise, not something you want. This costs nothing to rectify, just a matter of repositioning some not all. Essentially preventing them acting like a transformer. You will probably see those ubiquitous white sand cast resisters everywhere. They are noisy and cheap to replace. While you are busy a rewire will also help and solder the wires directly. I will need to see some photos to provide specific help.
