I seem to have a bit of trouble with my turntable setup.
The right channel keeps dying. I have, it seems to me, been able to isolate the problem to the TT/arm/cart, as all other sources (tuner and cd) works fine. There is some sound on the right channel, but very very little. However, when I press the mono button on the pre, it does seem to restore sound, but the not balanced.
As mentioned, this is not a problem with other sources.
I am wondering if there is any way of measuring the output from the TT + arm? I know I can measure the resistance on the cart, but this does not seem to apply to output? Also, the cart works well on my other TTs.
I've noticed that there appears to be two grounds on the arm (SME 3009 Series 2 improved). I have only connected one, as the other is far too short. Would this matter?
I must also mention that this combination (TT+arm+cart) has worked in the past.
