I swapped out two tonearms yesterday, only to find that the one channel wasn't working. A quick headshell swap revealed that the tonearm wiring was all good.

So, it was either the headshell connector, the pin connector wiring or the cartridge itself: a Shure V15 Type II.

First attempt was to isolate a possible broken wire, turned out that there was one indeed. But replacing that did not solve the problem.

I then decided to swap the cartridge, and then found the problem. The glue holding the pin connector section has disintegrated.

I think it can be repaired, but am in two minds on whether it's going to be worth the effort.
