Hey guys
I would just like to come look for some peace of mind. I just bought my Denon AVR-X2200w this weekend, what concerns me a little is how hot it runs. It's not the kind of hot that burns your hand, you can rest your hand on there for 5 minutes and it won't burn but I'm pretty sure your hand will begin to sweat eventually. It's very warm, but not too hot to the touch. It's this warm within 30 minutes of use.
I'm running 2x Wharfedale Xarus 4000 speakers for R and L, 2x Wharfedale Xarus 1000 for SR and SL, a Jamo D600LCR (this one is 4ohm, it's my centre) and a Wharfedale Power Cube 12 Sub. If I'm not mistaken the Wharfedales are 6ohm. It doesn't matter if I play music or movies the heat output is roughly the same. There's unlimited ventilation since I don't put my receivers into a cabinet, but rather it stands on its own on my desk.
Is the heat cause for concern or is it normal? I never actually felt my Pioneer VSX 923 which I replaced it with so cannot compare the two really.
