Looking for advice again :) My wife's '87 Conquest lost water last night. At the bottom of the inlet manifold is very short steel pipe into which the hot water is supplied. It's end is jagged and very short. I think Heath Robinson was the previous mechanic. So short, that the clamps don't work properly. I used some hose which I had and this morning I went to Midas and bought a new one with various clamps......even irrigation clamps :)  While filling the radiator it already leaks.

Can those little steel inlet pipes be replaced somehow? I'm not able to see underneath the manifold.

My gut feeling says the bond between the manifold and the steel pipe is compromised as the rubber pipe was quite a tight fit, yet it leaked without any pressure.
