Lumous Audio is delighted to announce that we will now be providing the brilliant high-end gear of the Cen Grand brand to audio enthusiasts in South Africa. As far as I know, this is a new offering in South Africa, but the brand is well-established in the East and has an avid following. They specialise in high-end DAC's and have produced a headphone amplifier that is testing the limits of what is sonically possible. They also make a DAC/headphone amp combo, a high-end media player and power amplifier. So, a small portfolio of focused, superbly engineered products.

The DSDAC 1.0 employs a bespoke, in-house 1-bit decoding algorithm and can up-sample to DSD 1024. More details are on the website.
The 9i-906 "Silver Fox" amplifier is designed to drive demanding headphones to the highest levels of fidelity. They also have the 9i-806 "Little Silver Fox" if you don't need the extreme power output. All specs can be found on the website.
After spending some time with DSDAC 1.0 (deluxe) and Silver Fox amplifier, I can unreservedly say that it is amongst the best DAC's I have ever heard. The amplifier is truly special and extracts some "magic" out of the Hifiman Susvara, which is notoriously hard to drive. It plays superbly well with 300-ohm dynamic driver headphones like the HD600 and ZMF Verite as well.
