My Ethernet over power connection's proven a little flakey of late so I've decided to solve the problem permanently by running 2x CAT6 cables from my study (PC's, NAS) to my listening room. I recently drilled a hole through a double brick wall to feed my IB's leads into my garage and into the ceiling. Thinking of using the same trunking/ conduit and hole to pass the CAT6 cable from the ceiling to a WAP and my Transporter. Two related questions:
1) my memory tells me running network and speaker cable together is not a good idea and will compromise networking performance - is this correct or has shielding sorted it?
2) how much of a threat is EMF during storms - will I get home and find my WAP and/ or Transporter crisply fried?
Thx
