Hi gents. Purchased a set of DM1400's off the forum mid last year.
I'm not too enthusiastic about the colour and finish on them.
I think if i can remember correctly the previous owner used a Woodoc stain (Cherrywood) and it looks like Woodoc 20 Gloss sealer on them.
I wanted to strip them and start again. Would like the color and finish to be as original as possible.
The way i was thinking off approaching it was,
1. Use a Paint stripper to remove the gloss finish (Sealer)
2. Use a fine grain sand paper to remove what is left after the stripper.
Two issues i have are im worried that paint stripper may damage the veneer and i am also worried about the thickness of the veneer and if i could end up sanding a hole in the veneer.
If you have done something similar or have experience with these speaker cabinets please let me know, Nay guidance welcome.
Regards
