Hi all,
I need some assistance with a new AV receiver. I recently lost a lot of equipment because of lightning and having some difficulty in decided on what to replace the blown Sony with.
One potential problem I might have though - my speakers are a bit older and running at 4 ohm. I have done some reading on the subject and for the most part it seem using these speakers with a receiver that does not support 4 ohm should not be a problem, if the heat sink is big enough to handle it and the system is not used at excessive volumes for extended periods.
Do you guys share this opinion?
Then the receiver itself. I am sure you guys might have other suggestions of what to buy and where, but here are some receivers I have been looking into and would really appreciate input into which is the best to go for (even if it does not appear in the list). I don't have a huge lounge and looking to spend between R6000 and R8500. Features vs price matters of course and just buying the most expensive one won't necessarily mean it's the best option.
