On Sunday night I smelled something burning. But it had a chemical smell to it. Couldn't trace it in the house and put it down to the town dump. We get everything when the north wester blows. Monday we had loadshedding .... and then some. Nothing ! Municipality came and said their side was OK. Called in a sparky. Took the enclosure off the DB. One word "sh1t" The main wire going into the switch had burned itself through and the insulation was burned off. The wire was in two parts. R620 and a new switch and installation had cured the problem.This is what the Fuchs switch looked like. Are those asbestos fibres in the plastic housing ?
