I am considering an 18000 btu unit for front room - 36 squire m. Does not need to be very sophisticated, will only use it when I'm in the room, in the heat of summer. No fancy automatic functions needed. 4.5 kWh solar panels.
AC Direct advertises a Samsung AR4500 18000 for R13 000, just about the limit of my budget. Can wait for Black Friday.
