If it is the turbo and supercharger model, stay very much away. Wife bought a few month old demo Tiguan 1,4 TSI in 2012. Munched a turbocharger and a set of pistons, thankfully all covered under warranty. This engine has a history of failures if you feel brave enough to trawl the internet for it.

Thanks for all the replies, they are much appreciated. I have been liaising offline with Mike (fdlysys) who makes a good point that there are limits to by how much one should be upgrading a Sondek. Otherwise it is no longer a Sondek.
