    Specs/Tests To Determine Sonic Differences

Regarding "Specs/Tests To Determine Sonic Differences" I found the following interesting: For loudspeakers - the work of Dr. Floyd Toole and Dr. Sean Olive. For perception of nonlinear distortion - the work of Dr. Earl Geddes or more specifically the GedLee metric...

    Geco Audio Vanguard

Thank you for your impressions thus far. I look forward to reading the rest. Your close-up photographs are a tease. Please share more photos of the full amp and accompanying setup, over time, if you can.

    Anybody deal with Foamrite acoustics

If their products called bass traps are made of foam too they won't have a useful absorption coefficient at low frequencies. Instead of foam I would rather install a product that uses rigid fibreboard. If you are in Johannesburg you can contact Oxland Acoustics or Benjamin Pro Audio.

    Weekend woofer build

Thank you for sharing this build. I wasn't aware of the existence of this design prior to your thread. It is an interesting one and yours looks good. Have you applied a finish to the enclosure yet? Have you decided to keep using yours directly on the carpet or have you added a piece of wood on...

    Fluke 111 DMM

Okay. I hope it can be saved too. Please update us when you do take it to them. I have been considering replacing my cheap digital multimeters with Fluke products and it would be interesting to know what the quality of local support is before I make the purchase.

To plinth, or not to plinth...

Did you finish these plinths Zilch? I am curious to know which inserts you chose to use in the plywood and how they worked. It would also be good to see a photograph of your TQWT loudspeakers on the plinths.

    Fluke 111 DMM

Did you get your Fluke fixed MusicMan_ZA? I am curious to know whether the Fluke lifetime guarantee mygoggie suspects Fluke products have meant that the Fluke agents repaired it free of charge.

Leslie Model 125 mono valve amp (ex organ)

    The 2020 speaker itch..

They look beautiful. That is a job well done. Thank you for sharing information about your crossover development process. Do you have a schematic diagram of the final crossover filter? What is a Palladium?

    Vintage Philips 9710 speaker build

That will make for an interesting experiment. Please keep us updated on how that goes. I would also try the AD12100 by themselves in the Berkeley cabinets. It could be that they sound better than the combination of the AD9710 and AD12100.

The 7 Frequency Zones - Understand, Broaden Your Knowledge...

In my opinion presence refers to the high mid region (around 4kHz, the most sensitive part of our hearing according to the Fletcher Munson curves) and air refers to 10kHz and higher.

DIY US (speakers) - first get together in a while

There are a few interesting designs there. The following design (Bill S's (Billet) OB106 theme speakers) may be within reach for local builders as there are a few local resellers of Eminence. I've never seen the below Eton woofer. It looks well engineered. I presume the ribs on the...
