Pulled the trigger on the K5. From reviews the only big negative is the pre-outs are not the best. I think I can live with that for the price and I am going to by using the headphones most of the time. I would have tried the Schiit Magni Heresy, but no stock at the moment and then I would have...
I've had a look at the Loxjie D30 and its interesting... definitely a better pick than the topping mx3. I am happy with solid state, even class D (vs AB or A).
I am looking to drive my 250 ohm DT990 which I use daily on my home setup (PC + Consoles). Currently they are plugged into the headphone out of a logitech 2.1 system and the source is the audio out from a dell monitor (so HDMI audio->3.5 mm stereo). I have an AudioGD NFB 11 (which will hit the...
Hi,
A buddy has a pair of these cans the left cup stopped working - it seems like a loose connection inside - he has opened it up and noticed it worked when pressing a bit on the cable jack - but then can't get them to work when closing it.
He has tried to get it repaired under warranty from...
Seems my Denon 3310 somehow is not displaying any video inputs since this morning. I've done a microprocessor reset, unplugged everything that isn't need etc. The OSD and tuner works 100%. But none of the inputs are being switched to. Not even the Analog inputs.
I might just be really tired...
lol - the door to the garage opens near the HT room and is far away from the bedroom! Have to be silent like a Ninja (at least when putting the new speaker in place). After that I'll make lots of noise testing it out. Lucky for me I bought a new amp recently and I'll use that as an excuse.
On...
I have the b&w 683 (s1) which I bought a while back and have been wanting to get the matching center, HTM61. Now that they have revised the series, I'm worried that I might have matching issues if I get the HTM61 S2. That said though, a lot of research showed that many were not too happy with...
Thanks all for the technical info... better to be informed. I'll just take it easy especially with a new born in the house. I doubt I'll get the chance soon to be home alone to crank the volume up loud enough to cause any problems.
Thought it wouldn't be a simple thing. The rotel really burnt a hole in my finances, so for now, I'll just limit the volume suitably to my max listening level, which I think will be plenty and well within the capabilities of the speakers. Not keen (and neither is my wallet) on introducing an...
I have B&W speakers (683 & htm61) being driven by a Rotel 1575. Using a Denon 3310 AV Receiver as a preamp. Speakers are rated 200w amp is rated at 250w.
While I probably wouldn't be pushing volume levels to max, how can one calculate the safest max volume for the speakers, if at all possible...
The microserver officially supports PC 10600 Memory which is 1333Mhz. However there are some 1600Mhz memory is said to work.
There are sites which document RAM compatibility such as: http://n40l.wikia.com/wiki/Memory
Glad you have it sorted though.
Used PS3MediaServer in the past. It is a transcoding engine and for 1080p movies, transcoding on the fly and seeking does not go well. Same for TVersity.
I now use a Samba NAS (running on a ubuntu microserver) and then use XBMC client to play (also on microserver). Never looked back!
