Used PS3MediaServer in the past. It is a transcoding engine and for 1080p movies, transcoding on the fly and seeking does not go well. Same for TVersity. I now use a Samba NAS (running on a ubuntu microserver) and then use XBMC client to play (also on microserver). Never looked back!
