    Belt for record player

Thank you, I'll try and pop in next Saturday! I must warn you, it's an el cheapo music centre type record player, so you may not want to let in your shop!  :point: Admission is reserved, right!?

    Belt for record player

My memory is failing me, but who is it in Lakeside that makes up belts for turntables?  :nfi:

I think I may have fried something, but I'm not quite sure what...

Oh well, I'll just have to try and remember to do that every now and then when I have time...

Yes, I think I'll reset the TV box as well tonight, because although I have almost never had any buffering since getting the fibre installation, it was buffering quite a lot last night. Don't know what caused it, but maybe a reset will clear that up as well?

Aaand we're back!! :Whoohoo: When I turned on the TV tonight the sound on the TV box was back, so I decided to reconnect it to the receiver and see what happened without first resetting it, and the image was indeed restored, but without sound once again. Since it had sound when connected...

 Aah, that's an idea I haven't thought of! I had thought of resetting the receiver late last night, but completely forgot that the TV box could also be reset to default settings! Maybe I'll just reset both tonight, thank you.

:walled: :help: YELP!! I have, amongst others, an OVHD decoder and a Minix Neo U1 Android TV box, connected to a Sony STR-DN1040 receiver. Got everything good and working last week, went away for the weekend and when I arrived back home on Sunday and wanted to start up my newly resubscribed...

    RCA-HDMI converter

OK, that will be something to aim for, then, thank you! At least I'm glad to read your confirmation that component cables don't carry the audio as well, as I've never been sure about it. I thought there could either be something wrong with one or more of my mom's devices, or I was doing...

    RCA-HDMI converter

No, I was referring to the red, white and yellow cables, where red and white are audio and yellow is video. It's a Sony STR-DN1040, so yes, the red, green and blue component cables are also an option, but do I understand it correctly that I would then still need a separate set of audio cables...

    RCA-HDMI converter

Haven't tried that yet, but there is something about assigning inputs in the manual, yes...

    RCA-HDMI converter

I have an old DVD recorder - remember those!? :giggle: - from before the days of HDMI, so it's connected to my receiver by a nice thick set of RCA cables, but I was just wondering if there'd be any benefit in using an RCA-HDMI converter and plugging it into the DVD-assigned HDMI port on the...

    Importing cheap media player

Sorry, but I didn't say it had anything to do with Linux whatsoever, I was merely, and pretty vaguely, for that matter, comparing it to Linux inasmuch as it seems to me to be aimed more at developers than users. And no-one has ever said that comparing two unrelated relationships was an exact...

    Importing cheap media player

Apparently so, yes, but the mentioning of no remote was just an example of how a Raspberry Pi needs to/can be (depending on your personal perspective!) tweaked and configured. It doesn't come in a housing, apparently, so you need to find your own. No this, no that; you need to add it yourself. I...

    Importing cheap media player

I have one of those myself, but I only got it this past Monday, so I haven't had much time to get to know it yet. The build quality, especially of the Airmouse, is clear to see though. I always find it hard to understand how shop assistants can expect you to decide between two or more devices...

    Importing cheap media player

Raspberry Pi, to my uneducated, slow-learning mind, is to Android what Linux is to Windows. :-[ I like to do a bit of fiddling and troubleshooting in Windows as much as anyone, but I'm simply not interested in going to the lengths that Linux would expect of me. The same with Android and...
