I love the idea of the Xiaomi streaming boxes, my only concern was that many of the reviews had negatives things to say about the 4k image quality which put me off :(

Does your AVR have an ARC capable HDMI input? Another member on the forums helped me with my setup (also a noob, thanks Ron) and ARC HDMI really is so beautifully simple.

The Firestick 4k is also a really easy to use device. The remote with the built in voice commands is also pretty awesome. Fantastic piece of kit for +- R1100. You can sideload DSTV Now, it's a bit fiddly but it can be done, however if you don't want to support DSTV then that's a non issue.

Does / has anyone used the Ellies "High" surge protection stuff? Considering buying a few and using them all over the house. Not expecting them to protect amazingly well, but gotta be better than nothing... I assume?
