Hey Guys,

Thought Id warm things up a bit before christmas and start a conversation on what made you choose valve equipment over solid state ...

Ill have a shot at it ...

I first heard valves through 2x graaf gm20 in bridged mode with wilson audio wat puppy's and wadia cd player. Wowzer, such a great sound.

At that time I had a nad 302. I then managed to source a radford sta25 a long time ago. I hooked the radford up to the nad as pre-out of the nad and it was wonderful.

My radford has always been in my system, but components changed around it. Speakers, dacs, pre-amps etc.

Right now its all tube, from dac, pre-amp + power amp.

It just sounds so musical, so I guess its about the way the sound makes me feel, over what is analytical and measures well. I am pretty sure, measurement wize, my system would suck, but when my feet starts tapping to the music, and I just cant get enough, I guess I arrived at audio nirvana ...

What has been your experience ?
