Hi
I have a series resistor in the HT line of the STA25 - as per Radfords recomendation to reduce transformer buzz.
It was a fairly hefty 20 watt component, but after a few weeks it failed - popped open on one side.
Now, before I just replace it, or remove it, I'm wondering if the failure is a result of the amplifier drawing too much current.
I completely rebuild the amp recently, so it is possible that I made a mistake somewhere.
Searched plenty, but cannot find the HT current that the amp should draw.
Anyone able to help.
Fitted with EL34 valves.
