I haven't been to a cinema/theatre in years so I'm a bit out of touch: I was wondering what proportion of cinemas in SA (or the big cities in SA) use DLP light valve projectors now in place of real film?
Or are they set up for both formats and switch depending on the source of the particular program?
When you watch the film, is there any obvious way to tell the type of projector used?
I recall a while back you'd sometimes see adverts that had been shot on analogue video-tape, and the picture was horrible.
