In short, I'm really looking to boost the gain beyond the windows default 100%
I'm having an issue with a web browser based streaming service which, when using laptop speakers, could be louder.
I came across this, which while cool and would do the job (see pic #1), is over engineered for my needs:

Also not looking for complex filters like 'attack' and 'reverb' for music production, or analogue valve emulators.
