I watched Schumacher last night, apparently the first documentary approved by his family (or something like that).

It is well made with lots of private / personal footage that we would not have seen otherwise.
They pushed the narrative of him being a very private man, a family man.
If you consider the names involved, (Mika, Damon, Eddie, Jean, Ross, Flavio, Coulthard etc...) they must have MOUNTAINS of footage.
The issue of his current health was glossed over, but you can read into things being said easily enough.
Deals primarily with his rise to F1, the Benetton titles and the effort to get to the first Ferrari title.

They did not dig deeply into his controversy, but did address the stand out issues.

All in all a good watch, especially if you're and F1 fan.

Kate is a good watch if you like action movies with a good Atmos soundtrack.

I can highly recommend Song Exploder. There is a same named podcast. They take songs across ages and genres and analyze them and speak to the artists about the creative process. I find it extremely interesting and insightful.

Apollo 11, the documentary about the first moonlanding (restored in cinematic-like high colour quality) was awesome. The sound, the stunningly restored colour images. What an engineering feat for the time.

And I followed that up with the 1st episode of the new documentary about the first all-civilian SpaceX mission. Pretty inspirational in itself, and the video quality is out of this world.

The wife and I binge watched the first 7 episodes of Nine Perfect Strangers and have kept the finale for tonight...can't wait!

Really excellent ensemble acting from the entire cast but Michael Shannon and Bobby Cannavale are quite superb.

PS: I just realised that this was a Hulu production but it's really worth tracking down if one can.

Midnight Mass

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10574558/

One of the best limited series I have ever seen on Netflix. From the writer/director of Haunting of Hill House and Haunting of Bly Manor.
Starts slightly slow but give it some time.

If you grew up in a highly religious environment this one will hit home for sure. It rivals the best of Stephen King's early works.

Hi all
Just finished watching The Chestnut Man and The Valhalla Murders,
both excellent police series from Iceland and Denmark.

Oats Studios is SA/Canadian director Neill Blomkamp's brainchild.

I will watch with interest!

There is a new and final series of Grace and Frankie, possibly the best ever.

Squid Game = (Battle Royale + Hunger Games)/It’s A Knockout (Jeux Sans Frontiers)

Not bad, but I cannot help but think a lot is lost in translation (the subtitles are as dodgy as the dubbing apparently, then again, the subtitles for ‘Parasite’ bore no resemblance to the dubbing either so I don’t know which to believe)
