Squeezebox trouble - please help.
« on: February 12, 2017, 08:44:21 AM »
After reading the Deezer posts, I was keen to give it a spin.

In order to install the app, I must log into mysqueezebox.com, this is where the trouble begins.
Somehow, when I first installed LMS, a .telkomsa.com email account was used to register the SB3.  Later I used my current email address to log into mySB.com.

It would appear that in order for Deezer to install, the login details for mySB and the player must be the same.

As the .telkomsa.net account no longer exists - I don't have the password anyway, there is no way I can think of to unregister the player from that account.

The last resort is to contact Logitech, but how?  Has anybody done this?

Login is memorised by LMS, not the player and you can re-enter your current credentials any time.
Plugin is installed on the LMS, not the player.
Once installed, it becomes available to the player(s) and can be found under "My Apps" menu.

Tom, not sure whether or not you bought one from me, albeit I don't think so. In any event, try it now - I've just deleted all Players from my mysqueezebox.com profile.

When I check settings/information on the SB3 it displays my *****@telkomsa.net address.
So I guess the SB3 is connecting directly to mysqueezebox.com using this login

On the browser I have the *****@mweb.co.za login details.

As I no longer have the *****@telkomsa.net account, I cannot change the way the SB3 connects directly to mysqeezebox.com.

Extensive searches on the topic have recommended that in order for Deezer to work properly, it must connect through mysqueezebox.com, and that login detail for Deezer must match.

Try what Mike's suggesting, failing which try a factory reset of firmware.

Tried a factory reset, no difference.

I have emailed Logitech - hoping they will respond.

Basically, If I try and use Deezer while connected to LMS, I get the following message that the player is registered to another user and that I should contact them to have it removed from their list of players.

Works when connected to mysqueezebox.com, but only with limited functionality.
Also, I cannot configure Deezer  from my browser.

Have you navigated the menu to set the device up from scratch again?  Does it not allow you to enter user credentials?

Also struggled a bit with Deezer first but after Brent unlinked the unit from his profile got it running without any hassle.  Cant remember the steps but well worth the effort ... great tool to discover new music and 320 kbps is actually quite satisfying.

I've been through the menu a hundred times.  It seems that once the details are in, they're in!
If there's a special method, please share.

Waiting for the reply from Logitech.

You tried a factory reset?  I suspect the MAC address is tied to the account. Unfortunately I don't have one here to troubleshoot.  Why don't you post a question on the slimdevices forum?

I just got a reply from someone at Logitech.

I have provided them with my current email address, and they say they will reset the player.

Will wait and see what happens.

All sorted out.

The kind people at Logitech have just registered the SB3 using my current email address.

Now I can use Deezer through LMS,rather than having to connect direct to mysqueezebox.com.
