Getting back into phones..maybe?

Last good system I had was Senhd800's driven with a Woo WA2 or a Graham slee solo and a MDac.. squeezebox touch as source
Found my 800s a disappointment, got a pair of Beyerdynamic dt 880s ,
I use the devialet preamp output or the headphone outs of my computer to drive them , rubbish from the puter but its convenient to use then there, devialet is pretty good

Im thinking of getting decent rig for late night listening

I have a few options

Path  usb to spdif and a DAC hp amp or a dac and amp and a decent set of phones

OR use my devialet to drive the phones which would just require phones and a long cable
At the most R40k all in preferably 2nd hand ?

I like deep visceral textured bass and transparency , loud with no distortion .. I like jazz , electronica , fem vocals and most music cept deathmetal
