Now I've got the opportunity to get some small things back from the UK when my parents go in August so I thought I would get some 6N1P-EV's as an upgrade or spares. Found someone in the Ukraine who could do a matched quad set for $15, peanuts...

Aaaaaaaand bought, as well as a kit for my grandpa in the UK to assemble as a birthday present as he used to have one of these next to his bed years ago.
Then I did more research about nixie tubes, even worse idea, I've found Nixie VU meters and I'm totally in love. I've narrowed it down to 2 options:
