A client bought the Phono 9 kit and built it. He took some photos I'd like to share:

I would love that. What shall we call it?

"Integrated tube preamplifier" ?

Maybe something a bit more snappy :)

What are you advertising it as?

I suggest calling it "Rover I"

I love music - analog and digital. Even listening to the Blues makes me happy. During the day I coach and counsel, after hours I indulge in my second passion - listening to vinyl and restoring turntables. Some I keep, some I sell...

Mars Ph1

Why not the phi (as in the Greek symbol for the Golden Ratio), covers audiophile, Ph1 and sounds well cool.

I like your thinking, JonnyP, but I want to steer clear from greek or mars mission associations for various reasons.

I am thinking of afrikaans words that has some relevance to the western cape and to my love of the outdoors and the biosphere that surrounds me.

The birds of the western cape fynbos are particularly close to my heart, and some wonderful names exist for them in the folk tongue.

I'm not a bird expert, but maybe go songbirds or those with distinctive calls in order of size.  In Durbs for example I'd go Mynah, Red Wing, Hadida for phono, wee amp, big amp in terms of output.  Don't know the fynbos birds well enough or the Afrikaans names.  If you have Hoopoes though definitely use that.
