I went to rAge this weekend specifically because I was told that ATI will be launching their 5870's there and they will be sold at a special price. I wanted the 5870 as an upgrade for my current screencard and also because it does in fact pass through DTS-MA and Dolby TrueHD. Turned out the "special" price was R4000 and one shop there was selling them for R4999... so I decided I'll wait a bit for one.

Then I came across CompAfrica's stand and bought this:
Popcorn Hour C-200
Overview: http://www.popcornhour.com/onlinestore/index.php?pluginoption=productinfo&item_id=12
Spec: http://www.popcornhour.com/onlinestore/index.php?pluginoption=productspec&item_id=12

Looks like it plays any format you can throw at it. I looked at the popcorn hours before and liked them but wasn't going to buy one just because they didn't support Blu-ray. The C-200 DOES! AND it passes through the highdef audio.
The device does not come with a bd drive as standard but I already have one that I'll install in it. I also liked the fact that it does not have any fans so is dead silent and comes in a neat looking case with a dimmable front LCD and an RF remote.

Mine will only be delivered in a week or two then I'll update this thread with my findings and some pics :)
