The major talking point on the NR818 is Audyssey XT32 which is Audyssey's flagship EQ. This is the only mid-range receiver currently available (that I'm aware of) that offers it. Until recently it was only available on the NR3009 (R26k+) and flagship Denon models. Higher measuring resolution than even XT Pro and the sound quality improvements are just night and day over 'standard' Audyssey MultEQ XT. Believe the hype, XT32 works.
