Not being the biggest cable believer, and a general sceptic in 99% of the claims I read, I nevertheless decided to see if switching from S-Video to Component would make me go, "Ooo!" while watching DVDs. So off I went, into unnamed specialist store, where first of the salesman wanted to sell me some *&@(*# ridiculously-priced cables at R500. After I'd asked him what he was smoking, and suggested he find me something less insane (Sorry, but for that amount of money I just know I'm going to get home, plug them in, and feel cheated...). Then he took me to another shelf, offered me another set at around R200, but for a three metre length, which was two metres more than I need. When I queried about shorter lengths, I was told that was all he had. No offers to look around, query distributors, nothing. Don't know, maybe I'm expecting too much...
