So I got curious.... this box standing in my hallway... the exchange-point for may a piece of equipment.... It is said to contain two speakers...
Roksan Kandy....
I phone the owner and asked if I could "inspect" the contents... maybe a mouse is nibbling at the ribbon, or it got wet...whatever to get them out of the box >
Should have left it RIGHT there.... dammit man.. :walled:
Why - because I ALSO now own a pair!
I was always hunting the Red Rose -Rosebuds.... a stunning ribbon/5.xx inch design. And I can never forget my surprise when I heard it first time! Until now.
Placed them on stands in my living room. Right in front of the Tannoys. So now Im going to listen to a shoebox in a 60m2+ room....
I slowly got off the floor... bliksim what a surprise... can this be ? did I disconnect the Watt/Puppy's ? Where did all that sound come from ?
Hour later I was still sitting there...amazed. The bass went surprisingly low.... ok call it upper bass. So I drag the Infinity HC sub closer, dump it jsut there next to amp, set it to about 60hz, 75% volume.... and the bottom 20Hz-30Hz nicely filled it, albeit slow...
This is a fast speaker...but the highs! George Michael - Songs from Another Century.... sibilance delux if your system is wrong... and there is none... Those ssss's float away in the soundstage... none biting your ears off. Stunning detail... amazing nice upper registers.
I have heard quite a few bookshelf's... B&W805, MA Gold and Vivid 1.5's. This is a smaller speaker... and dare I say it... in some ways better... it really is. I would love to hear the Kef reference 1's but then again, all the speakers I am comparing it against are 2-4x more expensive!
I DONT know what to do with it, Where do I put it.... that will have to sort itself out... I just had to have it.... Its THAT good
800GBP - Worth it! No jokes... And YES this time the magazines dont lie
