Opinion on Small Car Brand

My current car is getting long in the tooth, so I'm pondering a < R200K car (2017 onward).
In this range I only see Renault, suzuki, Hyundai.
Are there any opinions on the Renaults in particular ? Are these reliable or what should one be aware of in general on these brands.
I would prefer Mazda, but no Mazdas in this price range.
