Morning all,

I have just bought a Boston PV700 sub from Stormy Norman and want to check up front which is the best way to connect it to my NAD 3400 Integrated amp. Norman has handed the sub over to the courier this morning but I want to be ready to start setting it up once it arrives. Here is the link to the original ad which shows photos of the back of the sub for reference purposes.

The sub appears to have two line level inputs, however, they do not appear to be a left and right RCA input as per the usual. Instead, the top one 'uses the crossover control (removes high frequencies; use with sources lacking suitable filtering)' and the lower input 'bypasses the crossover control (direct to woofer, use with sources having built-in crossover controls or bass management).

Now seeing as the NAD 3400 is an older integrated without all the av receiver crossover controls, I take it the top line level input (using the subs internal crossover control) is the one to connect to. However, my dilemma is, should I use a single Y-splitter from the left or from the right pre-out of my NAD 3400? Here is a link of the back of the NAD for reference..

Will sending the single from only one pre-out (i.e. left or right) effect the balance of the sound when listening to music and watching movies (i.e. play the one sides bass frequencies only?

Should I rather connect the sub via speaker levels from the B channel on the amp while having my bookshelves connected to A channel to retain a balanced sound?

Many thanks!
