So, I've accumulated some drivers over some time now and I'd like to make some speakers for the study. Now, I've been itching to do an enclosure with curved sides for a while now and to use something other than MDF for the baffle and top. Any ideas what type of wood works well? The sides will be veneered MDF, so the solid wood for the baffle and top needs to gel with it, accounting for contraction/expansion issues that may arise from the different woods. I've been thinking of making the baffle removable, thus allowing some room for movement, but the top will be glued to the sides, so there may be an issue?

Any thoughts here?
