Great stuff, Ampdog Keep 'em rolling. I suppose my first Garrard 301, complete with its hardcover handbook and mounting hardware was also saved from the trash. I took a friend along one morning to look at some cartridges and other audio trinkets offered for sale by an old fogey close to my hometown of Durbanville. When we arrived about 10am, the seller was slightly sozzled (already!) and was very proud to show off his new system of tiny Bose spikkas tacked to the pelmets and picture rails and his Sony CD player. My pushy Italian friend got the pick of his Dynavectors and Supex carts and I can't remember what exought except... On the way out, there was this box sitting on his driveway. Something creamy was showing and when I asked, the sozzled one said it was going out with the trash, that morning. I asked if I could look and saw an almost new 301 sitting in the box. The seller didn't want any money for it but suggested I give R5 to his gardener, which is what I did. This is the 301 which today sits in that acrylic plinth, still running silently as the day I bought it. mafioso
