Ah cheese Mr Gore :( :( There you are just 90 minutes late with Elliot's excellent article. I need not have put me glass down and postpone me suppa for one wee test .......I see that 'under the influence' my measurements were not that far out. I did not calculate the voice coil temperature from the voltage and current values but actually measured it - which may have given more accurate figures (too lazy to go that far). As said, Rod Elliot is never far out and does exemplary work. As do Gene La Salla and colleagues from diyAudio. [I was a little surprised that shorted copper rings round the magnet pole as a (partial) remedy for magnet field distortion did not creep in somewhere, but that not as criticism.] I would suggest everybody keep a file of these articles - I do. ________________________________________________________________________________ P.S: Reading Elliot's commentary ....I wonder if the Rowland would allow an easy article on "The 30 biggest lies in Audio" Sorry, only musing ....
