I'm running the USP-1 pre and since last week the UPA-2 power amp as well - couldn't be happier. Don't be mistaken, these are proper high resolution and dynamic components with good refinement and power. Don't be tempted by the bigger is better syndrome when looking at a setup for an average size room. The USP-1 driving the UPA-2 I cannot turn up more than a third to half-way for fear of blowing the windows out! (And it's clean and undistorted.) They sound great on the Kef floorstanders but also lent scale and vavoom to some smaller Kef and Tannoy bookshelfs that I tried. Personally I think it's the best value around. Next step would be a nice Valve Audio...? ;) Locals that can are welcome to drop in for a listen.
