[QUOTE="funcrusha76, post: 355083, member: 7898"] Cape Town hip hop group Prophets Of da City recorded their third studio album, "Age of Truth", at Bop Studios. There's a bit of a story there because they were recording some very provocative materials - the lyrics in particular were highly critical of the Apartheid government and also the homelands. In one particular song they had the line, "F--- Mangope even if we record here". The studio managers apparently got a bit jittery about this and were wanting to withhold the master tapes (there was, I imagine, still quite strict controls regarding content) and the group had to in the end smuggle out the masters so that the album could be finished and released.
