How can you truly appreciate music in a car? Even parked in a car park? Let me - quickly ;D ;D- explain myself. Call me a purist, or anal retentive if you wish, but when it comes to serious music listening I believe that only one sense should come into play - your ears. It follows logically that (for me) the best way of listening is with headphones and my eyes closed. Or in my " listening chair" with the room dark. Weirdly, I will even find myself closing my eyes at live performances to eliminate the visual component of performers and whatever idiosyncrasies they wish to add to the music. Speeding down the highway while performing sophisticated taxi-and-metro avoiding manoeuvres and with the sweet sounds of 4-6 cylinders in front of you is, IMHO, not conducive to serious music listening. ( BTW, this is also aimed at the iPod generation who seemingly can "listen" to music anywhere and while doing anything.) And if you only listen to it as background soundtrack, why go to all this trouble? Ok, said my piece, will go and hide somewhere now. ;D ;D ;D
