Interesting topic! I have 2 tol Sharp car stereo pull out tape/radio decks, a pager, a nice Canon copier, an almost new daisywheel typewriter, assorted TV's, my old computer, my wifes computer, several fax machines, assorted handsfree phones, mobiles, two Pentax slr's and too many other things bought new and now redundant. I'm just thinking how hard I hard to work to be able to buy them and now will get zilch if I want to get rid of them. Several years ago, I changed careers from owning an advertising design studio to becoming a watch importer. The studio had a process camera, Richmond Graphic Systems plate makers, film processors, a rack with +-R50K's worth of Letraset, typsettting equipment, and too many other pieces of expensive equipment to mention. All in all, I think about R150K's worth of stuff. I called a nearby auctioneer (Hofmeyer & Mills) and the stuff was written up, collected by truck and there were no reserve prices on anything. Weeks later, I got a statement from the auctioneer. The stuff (all bought new and used only by myself) fetched nothing, according to them. The statement was for R750 for transport to the auction venue about 1km away from here. Sad, innit? mafioso
