for the past ten yrs I've had some sort of B&W speakers in my set up, started off with the 602 S1, and to me they were the best pair of speakers i've owned relative to the price they were crisp, good midrange , and decent tight base, so in my wisdome I decided to sell these to fund my next purchase 603's S2.............being wet behind the ears at the time , thought bigger was better, not the case the bottom end was deeper, but the detail and imaging just could not compare , these were were then borrowed without my permission...........and never returned ??? , the isurance replaced it with 603 S3's a slight improvement tighter bass , slightly better detail. I then got myself a pair of 703's blerry nice compaired to 603's. now last month the upgrade bug bit , being sentimental about my beloved 602's i decided to give the CM1's a test drive what a sweet sounding speaker , may be a bit bright for some, but they were just too small for my emotiva XP5, so i moved on to the CM5's boy was i dissappointed the detail and imaging just seemed to fall flat, i had such big hopes, i suspect they played around with the crossover of somthing...............in the end i decided to keep the 703's................for now !! i guess like most things ............you cant simply just buy on the name.......................but i've had more hits than misses with B&W. I must admit though I find their center speakers a bit lacking, but thats just my opinion. Would love a pair of 802D's...................ahhhhhh sweeeeet
