I had similiar problems with some people from mid-african origin(I think they work for Coke LOL!) who stayed above us in our old place and they drove us up the wall due to dropping items on the floor or playing with a golf ball. In our new place we have a different problem LOL! We dont have enough furniture and carpets to dampen the place and sound travels through the entire place. To top that upstairs we have wooden floors, can I call it "hanging" floors? The wood rests on beams underneath and that forms the ceiling of downstairs. Currently we have to deal with ourselves making the floors creak when anyone is upstairs - even any movement on our bed causes the floors to creak(no you devils - I am referring to sitting down on the bed or turning around LOL!) Our soundroom is also upstairs in a loft room with wood on the sides and off course the floor and the reflections are driving me up the wall! We have tamed it a little bit with curtains, etc, but I imagine putting a big, thick carpet down will solve a number of issues.
